It seems that every time I turn on the TV or read the newspaper, I’m seeing or reading about cannabis—or as it is commonly known, marijuana. As more states vote to make cannabis legal, I believe it leaves a lot of questions that need to be answered for business people....

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen these events all occurring in one season. Mother Nature is really playing havoc with us this year. I’m amazed at the number of fires that are burning all at one time in one region of the country, while others have encountered tremendous amounts of rain....

As the EPA took on a larger role, and Phase II of the NPDES took over, builders of roads, highways and buildings had to follow certain guidelines in order to be in compliance. The EPA began enforcing the requirements to control dust and topsoil from leaving construction sites, as well as the rules of municipal and industrial wastewater discharge....

It seems to have started off with a bang—rain in the Midwest and Southeast, late snow and rain in the East, and in the West, plenty of snow and rain. Although Southern California did not receive the rain ‘punch’ expected from El Nino, it did produce a fair amount of moisture for Northern California....

At the beginning of this year an end finally came to the drought in Texas. It sustained itself for four years as we watched millions of trees die from lack of water and hundreds of thousands of acres of land turn to desert. When the drought broke, the rains came, followed by flooding....
