Online Fundraiser Launched

An online fundraiser to stop Alaska’s Tanana River from washing away a bank has raised nearly $50,000. Eighty-seven people donated to the cause, along with several private- and public-sector donors, who gave money and materials such as boulders and ‘root wads’—big bundles of tree roots—to aid in building aquatic habitat and reducing erosion.
